Victoria Plotnikova is an artist, illustrator and designer currently researching human rights violations and visualizing these themes in her latest series, "Ways of Alarm." Since 2023 she is a volunteer and activist of the Association for Human Rights in Conflict Zones (AHRCZ) Geneva, Switzerland.

All Plotnikova's works and research are built upon self-identification. With civic maturity and an understanding of figurative essence, she uses the human body as a means to express the visualization of her ideas, as an object capable of embodying the widest spectrum of emotions comprehensible to everyone. Additionally, she depicts how others perceive the main character or themselves in their actions. This very perception becomes more important than the act itself, giving the event a flavor of a correct decision, or conversely, a fatal mistake. This aspect of social life is both its flaw and its achievement. Human perception changes, depending on circumstances, thus distorting the meaning of actions and shifting emphasis.

In her artistic practice, she uses graphics, painting, engraving and mixed media to achieve her conceptual vision.

In the past, Victoria has worked with the series "Urban Scenes", "Whims of Cats", "Child's Dream", "Disclosure", "Oblivion", "War", "Invasion" and "Confrontation".

The whole art series "Ways of Alarm" is built on the creation of an expressive symbolic image, the emotional and artistic idea. The means of expression for visualizing ideas is the human body, as an object that can embody the broadest spectrum emotionally comprehensible to everyone. These human images help to reveal the theme of the tragedy of war, show the emotional experiences, suffering and longings of the human soul at the time of a tragic change in life.

Series "Invasion"

Grotesque satirical language images of graphic series "Invasion" – image creation tool, underlining its essence, and satirical composition of scenes reveals the conflict.
Story line of each sheet – emotional and philosophical analysis of human psychology. In the center of study – the man and his deeds, and perceptions surrounding of the hero or the most on their actions. Sometimes, perception – reaction becomes more important than the matter, giving performances taste of right decision, or vice versa fatal error. It is this aspect of public life – its blemish and achievement. Human perception is changing, depending on the circumstances and main characters, thus distorting the meaning of actions, shifting accents.

Series "Confrontation"

Graphic series "Confrontation" is a multi-subject composition combined into a single line of philosophical and artistic – the foundation around which all stories develop – creating more complete picture of the image or illuminating it from other side.
Each graphic sheet – a separate story – the new story. But the main purposes of the series "Confrontation" are the study and simultaneously an illustration of the social and cultural life of society and distinct personality with his psychological characteristics and own aspirations in particular.
The entire series is based on the use of the "central metaphor" – comparing human and tree – this are "main characters". Referring to the image of a tree, on the one hand we see a symbol of wisdom, spiritual growth, restoring life and even life itself generalizing character. On the other hand that is paradox, complexity and inconstancy of human psychology is the foundation of the world depicted in contradictory artworks of series "Confrontation".

Series "Disclosure"

Philosophical-psychological images of a series of watercolors "Disclosure" are not unambiguous illustrations of the basic "stereotypical" concepts. It is human perception reveals their essence. Each artwork is an emotion, action and result. Series represents a separate philosophical concept, which collected in a single chain create logic of thought.

Series "Oblivion"

A series "Oblivion" – this is illustrations to the psychological state of man, his feelings. In the center of each picture there is the deployment of the plot, but there is no dynamics of any action, it sketches of frozen figures at the moment of emotional memories and reflections. Their feelings, which clearly depicted on the faces and it is important, emotions holds them, they moved into a certain state of "oblivion" when everything else around is losing value.
This face`s emotional play expressive and symbolic poses – the key to reveal the gist of each portrait, unraveling the feelings of the protagonists.
